Isolated in lock-down fearing Coronavirus
Not seeing family and many years a widow
With only dog and budgie keeping her company
Terrified virus will strike her down into the grave.
She spends days worrying about family and friends
Speaks to them on the telephone, sees them on skype
As they try keeping her spirits bright with hope alive.
The nights are the worse, lying abed mind full of terrors.
One day she begins to cough finds it hard to breathe
She has high temperature finds it hard climbing stairs.
Called for ambulance and was rushed to hospital
Where doctors and nurses fought the virus for her life.
Alone, she died another victim of the cruel epidemic
One among the millions to be mourned world-wide.
The Netherlands are very careful with sick old patients, with emergency brought to hospitals and taken care for by special section isolated
