On These Waters Poem by Obed dela Cruz

On These Waters

On these waters I walk as each step I come closer,
Hoping to find Your embrace before the winds bend me.
Increase my faith, I pray, for I want to be nearer
Uphold my strength so my eyes may always prove to see.

Because the waters became more troubled than before,
I can no more imagine how can I keep the pace.
Calm the waves, calm my world, for I hear the thunders roar
I search for You now, so please take me there to Your place

Save me, I pray, save me, reach out when it starts to rain
Pour not on me the burden of the gray horizon
But let me hear Your song because You share in my pain
The same way let me feel Your heartbeat from this day on.

There You are and if it is true, please keep me walking
Let not the waves shake the path that leads me straight to You.
But my Dear, there are times I just can’t keep on standing
Carry me in Your heart and may Your love keep me through.
