Parasite Poem by Samantha McKinnon

Parasite

a parasite
crawled over me
touched and dripped on
every part of my existence
every breath
every tear
every cell in my body
it confines me to my mind
and the space I waste
this parasite is eating away at my heart
and my sanity
it seems to take
and watch over me
its eye is always on me
waiting for the right thing and time
to pop up
and torture me once more
this intrusion is
Just as small and harmful as
Anthrax upon the rim of a
Soda bottle
Ominously tempting you towards a
Never-ending nightmare.
