Samantha McKinnon Poems

The most beautiful smile I ever saw
appeared on a day
when all things bright and beautiful,
should have gone.
...

I am from heartache and love,
from PopCap games and mood swings.
From that big blue house filled with sins,
that once housed a living nightmare.
...

One assumption spurs it all.
Time slows to a crawl and the walls become a heavy shawl.
My heart beats faster and faster,
the salty streams flow more aggressively than ever.
...

I agreed to be yours.
I beamed as I gave you my word,
Which meant so much
...

5.

Warm breeze, and you're gone.
The sky goes somber
As the door slams
Before I switch the lock.
...

I know I can't provide you both
With the happiness you each deserve.
Time has given me one before the other,
And my heart has chosen accordingly.
...

Happiness and strength are not easily acquired
When it seems your brain is impossibly wired
By something else setting the scene
For a world where you simply shouldn't be. Where
...

Atop crystal water falling with beauty,
Two people celebrate love and union.
Before I came they made it their duty
To show how two hearts in love should fit in.
...

Your sweet and smiling lips
Were drenched and dripping with deceit
Your warm and aggressive hands
Fell over me,
...

I would give anything to forget.
Forget the feeling
Of your every word
Dancing through my ears and mind, relentlessly.
...

I tried to show I loved you
But it was never that cut and dry
You always found a way
To lead me to a new demise
...

a parasite
crawled over me
touched and dripped on
every part of my existence
...

13.

I wish things were different
When I look in the mirror.
I wish I would see
Someone standing in place of me.
...

I feel you pull at my feet
And extract the warmth from me
The cold sweeps through my body
And envelopes my breath
...

15.

Maybe this is what I needed
To come back to the place
Where it all began,
Come back to the place
...

16.

She looks so miserable
Standing across from me.
She tries to wash away
The shadows beneath her eyes
...

My love passed through your chest
And devolved to chaos.
I entered your life
And began to change
...

18.

You'll run.
You'll go.
I thought you'd understand me.
My voice shaking as I say,
...

19.

Her smile seemed to blink.
It passed away
This morning,
went like a deep breath out.
...

20.

I hoped:
Make me blind
Long enough to chill my heart
Because

The Most Beautiful Smile I Ever Saw

The most beautiful smile I ever saw
appeared on a day
when all things bright and beautiful,
should have gone.

The most beautiful smile I ever saw
in fact wasn't beautiful at all.
It was the evil smirk of the
ugliest, and most terrifying of monsters.
One that only hurts.

The most beautiful smile I ever saw
still haunts me but
only in the darkest of dreams.
It appeared when he himself
had struck me down to my knees.

The most beautiful smile I ever saw
is what brought me forward
to put an end to the monster
that only I knew existed;
The very person I should have trusted unquestionably.

Theat smile came again when I was begging a stranger,
"Please don't take us away fr..."
And that smile cut me short,
and ripped my heart apart.

The most beautiful smile I ever saw
in fact wasn't beautiful at all.
It was the evil smirk of the
ugliest, and most terrifying of monsters.
One that only hurts.

The most beautiful smile I ever saw
was only beautiful in the aspect that
it showed, to a young girl,
the truth behind
not her Dad, but her 'father',
who might as well have not
been at father at all.

The most beautiful smile I ever saw
opened up my eyes to the ugly truth.

The most beautiful smile I ever saw
in fact wasn't beautiful at all.
It was the evil smirk of the
ugliest, and most terrifying of monsters.
One that only hurts.

The most beautiful smile I ever saw
set me free, and showed me
I should have never protected them;
The one that hurt, and the one who watched
and did nothing- the one who
dared still call herself my 'mom'.

The most beautiful smile I ever saw
set me free.

The most beautiful smile I ever saw
in fact wasn't beautiful at all.
It was the evil smirk of the
ugliest, and most terrifying of monsters.
One that only hurts.
