Paris Eyes Poem by Phillip Knight

Paris Eyes

Rating: 4.5

So many times in life
have my eyes deceived.
My heart has led me the wrong way.
I have found the flowers of beauty,
To be the ones I'm told to,
Not the ones I actually see.
Foreign films now dubbed,
No longer subtitled,
Music suddenly gleeful,
Folky routes now vanish.

Where did I go to hide?
How long have I been in suspended space and time,
Just waiting for someone to say,
I'll save you.

And there you were.
To remind me that daffodils are my favourite,
That music can make me shine,
That loneliness is never loneliness
When within your heart I stay.

On sweet love,
How we watch this world through Paris eyes,
Romance and passion,
I never sleep without you,
Your heart, our love,
Wonderful points in which I change,
Change for the better,
Change to be me.
Hold me in your thoughts
For with you I cling to love.

I love this poem, so thought provoking. When one can see the beauty in the flowers and make choices to change for the better wthout reliance on another person, that's when there's no clinging. Absolutely loved it Phil, very well written x
