Peace is the presence of serenity
Peace is the presence of harmony
Peace is the presence of order
Peace is the absence of conflict
Peace is the absence of hurt
Peace is the absence of discrimination
Peace comes from within
Peace comes from outside

When we are clear and focused
When we are content and fulfilled
When we love and be loved
When we share and care
When we are selfless and giving
Then we are at peace with ourselves
And we get peace flowing
Inside and around us
Enveloping us and surrounding us
Nourishing us and nurturing us
The reverse is chaos
Drying of life
And slow, painful death

When there is justice around us
When fairness is the core of all dealings
When opportunity comes to everyone
When blessings reach every corner
When efforts get rewarded
When courtesy begets courtesy
When life gets respected
When honor is protected
We get peace outside
Keeping us warm and safe
Making us proud and confident
Protecting us from all evils
Helping us to realize our dreams
Exploiting our potential

We do not have ideal circumstances
We can not control outside
But we can control inside
Let us do what we can
And be peaceful
And contented
And useful
Let us share
And care
And inspire
And make life what it is meant to be.

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,
The dew-drops shine like fairy rain,
The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.

The Wind is hiding in the trees,
