Piano Afternoon Poem by Uriah Hamilton

Piano Afternoon

Rating: 3.8

A cottage in the sun,
my lovely one,
we could saunter gently
to a gazebo in the park,
the melody of our souls to encounter;
there's a harmony we share
in the piano afternoon.

This love is surely not forever,
everything we are and touch
is ephemeral;
but if I could kiss your mouth
for one delicate moment
in this fragile and fleeting summer,
I will accept any reoccurring sadness
that befalls me.

When I first read it several times the beginning seemed disconnected until you summed it up in a piano afternoon. It left me wondering what would happen next then a reoccurring sadness touched my heart. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
