Sad salutations,
Funerals that precede death,
Dashed expectations,
Warm moonlight glow
That vanishes in wintry cold.
Some friends depart
When their smile and laughter
Are appreciated most,
Some friends never arrive
And one can only imagine
The unique pleasure
Their presence would impart.
A dark-haired girl
Breaks my heart
As the music in the city
Fails to start,
But of course,
It is all my fault:
I’m a poet without the proper words
To calm anticipated fears
And instill a magical trust
In the compassionate harmony
Of a kind and considerate universe.
A most eloquent and evocative portrayal of the isolation imposed by insight into a greater reality than most humans experience. To commend the form of the verse, the rhetorical skill, might be to detract from the message itself. A praiseworthy piece, Uriah. == Will
You do have beautiful words and the yearning expressed is most touching. Remember though that the pain is only proof you understand how important love is and understanding that is what makes love possible.
you have a gift to precisely place words where they need to be. -shannon
Eloquent write. The third stanza is especially moving. Take care, my poet friend. Warmest regards, Sandra
Feeling our hands are tied and our feet entrenched in such circumstances is the hardest to endure, but your poetry is certainly proper and will express and replenish our hearts needs forever more Uriah! I loved your poem, thank you for it. Smiling at you, Tai
