Quiet Sadness Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Quiet Sadness

Sometimes wondering where all the strangers have gone
that were in one's life for mere moments, what are
they doing now.

It's amazing how many people we've met before dying,
not able to be friends forever, but leaving a memory
etched in our minds as long as we live.

Wondering too, why we didn't become lifetime friends,
why did we go our separate ways, many times never even
saying good-bye.

Disappearing from one another's lives, never to be seen
again on earth, looking back, feeling a quiet sadness
because we've missed so much in life without them.
