Rain In Summer Poem by Neela Nath Das

Rain In Summer

Rating: 5.0

The clouds rushed towards me
With thousand drops of rain.
And burst with lightning and
Thunder to wipe my sweat and pain.
The river danced with delight
And trees bowed down their head.
And they flashed with new life
Washing the leaves half dead.
The cows were mooing all aloud
To see that sudden burst.
The dry earth soaked every drop
To quench her long days' thirst.
The dusty roads, alleys and lanes
Cleaned their dirt with glee.
The shrubs and bushes smiled
to say, 'Ah! fresh we want to be! '
