Reich

Anschluss an die nationale Schande (German for “following the national disgrace”)
Brought an end to the liberal ways
Rise of the sinful in an alien land
Dismayed fellows of various race

Façade of the Enabling Act
Incapacitated the innocent heart
Merciless speaker of a dutiful mass
Had a cortege with a million dead

Anschluss an die nationale Schande (German for “following the national disgrace”)
Brought an end to the liberal ways
Rise of the sinful in an alien land
Dismayed fellows of various race

Danzig crisis evoked a clan
For a thousand years they’ve wanted this land
Comrades stood against the wall
And gave ears to a nefarious rant

Casting of the final solution
Was endowed in a Shoah chamber
Yowling of the heaps of numb
Muted by a vicious member

Anschluss an die nationale Schande (German for “following the national disgrace”)
Brought an end to the liberal ways
Rise of the sinful in an alien land
Dismayed fellows of various race

poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Your hands lie open in the long fresh grass, --
The finger-points look through like rosy blooms:
Your eyes smile peace. The pasture gleams and glooms
