Renewed Consciousness Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Renewed Consciousness

Once those picked,
And tremendous impressive egos...
Have been thoroughly removed,
From the ceilings of high places.
Trimmed in self importance.
Highlighted in golden incompetence.
There could be a chance and possibility,
Of a getting back on track...
To the using of common sense, again.

"Where has it been,
All this time not to use? "

In basements packed.
Stacked and stored in crates.
As if relics from a valued past.
Gathering dust under other trash.
Although unknown treasures,
Unrecognized they could have had.

"Whew!
That 'IS'...so very sad."
What did this,
Intentional oversight cause."

A wealth of created disasters.
One after another.
Boasted to gloat over,
By those thoughtless and mindless.
Even making ghosts of the past gasp.
Running away screaming in disbelief.

However...
God is good.

"All the time! "

However...
God is good.
Coming to introduce,
A renewed much more uplifting...
Consciousness.
Awakening the many,
Volunteering to be drugged on glitter.
Deception.
And the gloss of blinding stupidity.

Although...
No one should expect,
A slow process to become...
An overnight success.
Gloating?
Is a severe addiction to overcome.
But...
It will.
With tolerance and patience.
Kept to not to fake it.
