Reunion Poem by Bireswar Halder

Reunion

With the moon hanging in its full-lit grandeur
She appears before me in bridal finery
At last the wait is over, thrills stretch over me
This beautiful reunion, for so long I longed for.

I am steeped in a boundless joy
She appears only to take me to a new world
The sweet bond grows by the hour, we both feel,
A new world descends, one of peace and eternal bliss.

Both will sail to the world of endless mirth
Heart swells, eagerness bounces in expectation
Today I am fearless as she is my guide
And now ready for an unknown adventure.

People cannot hold themselves as we depart
All cares, love and affection for them are on hold
Past bond with near and dear ones fades as morning dew
Tears well up in my eyes, memory gathers as bubbles.

I have neither regret, no remorse in life
Whatever role given I have played well
I will happily leave for a new world
I leave for a new role, a role for a greater world.

We all are in the same way i.e. the way to eternity which is rightly depicted as reunion. We don’t know what will happen after the end of life. But our religious ethics guide us to achieve boundless joy and eternal bliss which is waiting for us beyond of our existence.
