At an infinite distance from this planet
Roaming stars in the galaxy we can not count
And on a clear night when we probe them
A genuine joy we get from the beauty supreme.
But when the science with it's achievements
Enables us to reach upto the stars distant,
Giving us a chance to study their structure
We realize from our hearts a beauty's departure.
Nodoubt the modern science is noble
And can be compared with doctrines spiritual.
It vouches ' all that glitters is not gold'
only the thing is to accept it we must be bold.
Modern man pursues joy through materialism
Involves in position where pity he can not claim.
Instead of means as the end he accepts money
Runs after it, throught life to be seized by agony.
Hi Ratnakar, A fantastic description of the world I would love to live in. I despise many of these modern values which are highly ungodly and cause more pain than joy. Thank you for this hymn of freedom. Greetings, Paul
I just met Paul Arnod this past month and I can only concur with his assessment of your poem, and its movement toward a celebration of traditional cultural values. But you honor science in the opening stanza and treat its achievements with respect even though you fear further abuses.
Hi, Ratnakar, I agree with your, The new discoveries have revealed many secrets of of universe, but made man more materialistic and driven us away from honesty, truth and human values. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful and thought provoking poem. Enjoyed reading it. Yes science has taken some of the beauty or I would say softer emotions away from us, but still I feel understanding some thing can not diminish its power. It should make us more appreciative of its charm and existence. This charm and existence is not created by science and it surely can not take it away.
Nodoubt the modern science is noble And can be compared with doctrines spiritual. It vouches ' all that glitters is not gold' only the thing is to accept it we must be bold.....outstanding conceptualization. Beautiful poem is shared amazingly. Thanks again.10

Instead of means as the end he accepts money Runs after it, thought life to be seized by agony.....pragmatic expression! An adorable piece of poetry! (10)
Many, many stars are really roaming in the galaxy and we cannot count or imagine. Achievement of science still does not able to convey exact truth about many stars. Modern Age is witnessed by grasping materialism but really truth and happiness lie on God only. We should all proceed to God......10
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
Wow, Ratnakar, this is fantastic. It couldn't be more true! Modern man does pursue joy through materialism. I love the nod to Tolkien in your poem too. Thanks for sharing.
