Right Keys Poem by gershon hepner

Right Keys

Rating: 5.0

As easily as right keys turn
the tumblers of a lock
we kiss each other as we burn
with equal love, and shock
the people who have different views,
and lack imagination
to understand, despite the clues,
our secret combination.

We’ve crossed too many bridges and
so many have been burned,
there’s no way they can understand
the lessons we have learned,
which really doesn’t matter since,
unless our hearts turn cold,
there’s no need for us to convince
the ones who’ve not been told.

Gershon: Mazeltov! This is so well-crafted and perfectly describes a relationship not understood by the 'general'. Nice use of metaphor and rhyme. A gem of a poem. Hugh

Gershon...nicely worked out metaphor in the first stanza.
