Shadows
fighting to escape darkness
shadows reel me back in
echoing taunts of weakness
presenting me with a knife
bending to the command
a slave to the dagger in hand
as i drag it across my skin
bringing forth crimson release
blood flows from my veins
dropping the blade in shame
deafening silence surrounds
shadows retreating to corners
watching with unforgiving eyes
as darkness consumes again

There is a darkness that lives within us all, for without darkness, light cannot exist... I hope you find the light... There is a beautiful agony about this poem... I love it...
