Signs Of Winter Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

Signs Of Winter

Rating: 5.0

How tranquil and remote the stillness
along the narrow, meandering trail,
when the snowdrifts of winter
are dispersed over hills and vale.

Where the ice-edged creek slowly flows
beneath the snow, laden towering trees
obscuring the rays of sunlight,
adding more discomfort to the winter freeze.

Where a sweeping sound of branches are heard,
or a mourning dove is faintly calling,
or the fluttering or vibratory sound of a deer,
or a broken tree falling.

Where the distant, snow covered mountains
sway like silhouettes against the sky,
where the cold, blustery winds
seem to moan as they blow by.
