Sincerity Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Sincerity

Out front they said I could write
But behind my backs they sneered,
Such foolish pretense was not right-
Insincerity in the hearts that leered.

The ugly masks people wear
Destroy themselves in the end
Like rust and termites there
The erosion will inwardly bend.

When people say what they mean
And mean each word they say -
Truth is where their hearts lean
And with sincerity they will always stay.

'Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.'

Proverbs 12: 19
