The snow had just begun to fall,
thick snowflakes falling
past the restaurant window,
when you whispered, leaning forward,
oblivious to the crowd
around us, when you whispered those words,
and the feathery snow kept falling and falling,
when you whispered to me alone,
you whispered in a dream-voice,
'I want you tonight, ' and the snow
was shining as it fell, and I nodded
as in a dream. Then I grabbed your hand,
saying, 'Tonight I want you, ' as the snow
softly covered the earth, and the dark air
was shining with promises....
nice, daniel. the picture you summon with your words, the lyrical tone, make the whole of this quite vivid and pleasant for me. nice. -glen
Artistic presentation. A significant poem. Splendid. I've translated this poem into Bengali for our Bangladeshi readers. wishes for the poet.
A beautiful musical reflection mingling in the snow of love, such a delicate and inspiring poem. Definitely classical music style! Thank you, RoseAnn
Two poetic minds can create a whole orchestra. Enjoyed the music. Will look for Fabrizio's poem to catch the full rhythm.
TO THE READERS: as I've written on my 1st comment (see below) , Daniel let me know beforehand, through a message, the text of his poem. When I read it, the association with a musical theme [just a light piece of music, not those elaborate pieces like in Rameau or Gluck's operas..] was right there.. and it took its shape in a few minutes.. Let's say.. sort of Fabrizio Frosini Variations on a theme (Aria) by Daniel J. Brick :) - - - DIVERTISSEMENT - - - [On an Aria by Daniel J. Brick] I. The snow had just begun to fall - thick snowflakes falling past the restaurant window, When, leaning forward - oblivious to anybody but me, She softly whispered to my ear the warmest words of love. II. She whispered those words for me Alone, and the feathery snow kept falling and falling, enveloping the whole of our Universe III. When she whispered to me, in a dreamy voice - 'I want you tonight', The snow was shining as it fell upon us and our dreams alike IV. I grabbed her hands, silently, letting only my eyes speaking: 'I want You too, tonight'. And we let the snow softly covered the whole of the earth, And the dark air was shining with Promises.... (Fabrizio Frosini, January 2015)
