So near yet so far
- - - - - - - - - - - -
So funny and so strange;
So loving yet so mystifying
A thing, time and again
It haunts and does sting
It disturbs and arrests
It torments and pleases
And remands you to custody
As if a criminal
Awaiting a free, fair trial
Oh! what you are
A soul happy happier
When you are near
And gloomy gloomier
When you are far
Yet you twinge as if so near
Roses are sad
Stars are nowhere
The moon and sun are dead
And no flower can bloom fair
Unless you are here
And no light can glitter
Unless you be the light here
Part of my life you are
Like a star you glow and glimmer
And when you are gone
No dreams or hopes can fill the space
And may God squeeze the distance
So that I could travel easy with no pain
Between the heart and the heaven
So near yet so far……….
Oh! such a lovely romantic poem.....really I loved it..........
Many many thanks...........Amitavaji............I am humbled..........
True love is so subtle and strange that when you are with love.....feel to be at heaven, but losing it or being separated...... feel to be at miles away....... rightly written and enjoyed.
Many many thanks...........Kanav..........I am humbled...............
Many many thanks...........Valsa..........I am humbled...............
Love is strange... the pain of distance from a loved one is something that no words would describe... you wrote down a lovely poem...

I would like to translate this poem
The ravings of a lover separated from his beloved... He feels the Earth is devoid of all beauty when she is far, but everything arrayed in scintillating charm and glory when she is near! Love has the power to invest magnificence to even ordinary things! ! A very passionate expression of romantic feelings! !
