Solitary Periods Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Solitary Periods

Rhythms talking and whispering to me in darkened
hallways of night.
Solitary periods of loneliness open their doors
and take me into their depths, holding and hugging
me closely so I don't feel so abandoned when they
are done caring about me.
Showing compassion and taking my heart on a journey
of beautiful silent intellect.
Praying as they proceed, giving a sense of peace as
I walk on, still holding on to loneliness in my
heart and soul forever.
