Something Deeper Poem by Paula Glynn

Something Deeper

I like to play my cards right,
So you just sit tight,
And wait for me to make that magic hand,
That clears the cobwebs,
That widens the view of the earth,
That so once eluded me,
That left me blind,
As if I were in a closet,
With my eyes closed,
For I had once been naive to the ways of the world,
I had watched people spread germs,
And pollute what could be a beautiful planet,
For the earth is so green and blue,
That it must mean something to you,
We have to see something deeper,
Realise that what goes around comes around,
And that those days of feeling down,
Won't last forever,
For there is something better along the way,
There are many paths to choose,
And all those paths lead to truth,
To justice and honesty,
For there can be beauty to be found,
Where once people thought happiness didn't exist,
But happiness can exist,
And is here for all time,
Because happiness may be hard to come by,
But it is well and truly mine,
For I have cast a spell,
And I know that time will tell,
How things go for me,
Because I know I am on the up,
And that if I do become stuck,
I have a higher power to turn to.
