Sonnet 25 Poem by doug bentley

Sonnet 25

Rating: 5.0

in the years ahead will these few years
be accounted time we touched heaven's star,
and that pure glory reflected in your eyes
mean more to me than anything, by far.

in them will be seen those moments,
rare in the history of any life, that bestow
a sense of peace surpassing earthly argument,
setting certainty on all one may know.

mystery in those eyes some may perceive
as tragic testament of hellish ravage.
closer discernment leads lovers to believe
in them focus beauty all art to ravish.

having passed through the valley of death
what now may be accounted of more worth?
