Soulful Cries Poem by Amudipe Opeyemi Marcus

Soulful Cries

A misty cloud of uncertainty
Looms over our souls mountaintop
The presence of the owl nearby
Waiting watchfully to cry doomsday
Pagaa! ! ! Our Ancestors seems dead

Tears tears through our stream of happiness
Its rhythm its alters, our dance shattered
Seems Oduduwa has forgotten the road to ile-ife
Amardioha has forgotten to send the rain
The crossroad no longer blesses our sacrifice

In the days of Olugbon and Orogun
Happily we toiled, reaping bountifully at noon
In the days of Aresa, I fear not the thoughts
Of having triplets from Suffis' bosom
To you in agbada seated upon the rock
Let not your time be different.
