Let violence not incite your mind
let understanding ride with your thoughts all the while;
let duty look at you in your eyes
let hatred not over take your sight and blind your path;
let hope not disperse from a beautiful tomorrow
let families have their unity and love forever;
let anger and terror vanish from your vision
let kindness and brotherhood ingest your existence.
Don't take life away today just because you want to
don't get tears in the eyes of those who don't deserve to cry;
gone are dads and mothers who are innocent
gone are those whom you never would want to harm;
if only could you have held your anger
if only had you gone and talked to your friend or a preacher,
they would have lived, you would have never died
you would have survived to know the futility of violence.

A fine and lofty verse written with clarity of thought and mind. A beautiful creation. Thanks for sharing, Jacson.
