Stuck Between Your Soul And Reality Poem by Eila Mahima Jaipaul

Stuck Between Your Soul And Reality

Rating: 5.0

you must understand
I didn't want to leave
not now
not like this
but I was committed,
dedicated
stuck half way
between dreams and wishes
between love and necessity
between your soul and reality
I wonder...
what you'd have done with me?
put me in your pocket?
to finger me idly
while folks paused to gape
at your sorrow with a smile.
no, my love
the secure binding of duty and your honor
tie me to the knowledge that its better this way.

Lovely imagery here. I loved these lines: what you'd have done with me? put me in your pocket? to finger me idly while folks paused to gape at your sorrow with a smile.
