Swampshire Castle Poem by Lady Pattianna Urasz

Swampshire Castle

Come see lady Pattianna of the castle in the shire

Somewhere very deep in County Kent.

Although it is wooded there is a growing mire

Sucking down the possessions from the tents.

Such as dresses, robes, and sashes,

Ladies' shoes, socks, and glasses,
And this is just how it all began.
Soon the swords, bucklers, shields,

Horses, carts, and even fields

Began to vanish right into the mirey sand.

Trouble was that it kept raining.

There was absolutely no restraining

The quantity of water that came down.
At first it was the pond that filled.

Soon it covered fields and hills.

Made a murky, muddy, mire out of dry ground.

Eventually it stopped raining,

Now everything is draining.

We no longer call it the mire, it's a swamp.

Swampshire Castle is the name,

Raising mosquitos is our fame.

The game we play is called the
Mosquito Stomp!
