Syria And Hi-Tech Sirens Poem by Susie Gharib

Syria And Hi-Tech Sirens

There are lions that guard the gates of light
Whose cubs may slumber but with eyes that pierce the dark;
How dare you sneak into our multifarious but harmonious rites
With alien snipers who have the semblance of Lucifer's clowns!

You sow the seeds of discord and sectarian strife
But in Syrian soil no evil can bud or yield a sprout,
And the heads of vipers that slither to desecrate our hearts
Will be the soot retreating back to your venomous hearths.

The lies you broadcast to tarnish our starry skies
Will only breed black holes to devour your flamboyant spite:
Our words of truth will scintillate like beacons of light
But like hunted witches you burn your words alive.

Syrians love each other.
