Tell Me? Poem by Asma Khan

Tell Me?

Tell me where are you?
I loved you with all my heart,
I have to spend this life forgetting,
keeping your apart?

Tell me what was my fault?
I gathered all fences of loyalty to your door,
brightened your heart with pride and care,
you gifted me with your loss?

Tell me who is he I loved?
promised me days of sunshine and nights of romance,
kissed me with his gentleness and glory,
suddenly ripped my heart into scars?

Tell me how long is this wait?
kept me up in the lonely nights
and fed my emotions with sorrows and pains
tossing me like an option in his life?

Tell me if there is no return?
I burned all bridges to reach your path
carried my hopes in a ruthless war
wore my dreams on a body of scars
yet you buried me under your ego?
