The Clamp-Down On Love Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

The Clamp-Down On Love

If the government clamps down on love
the boys to beauties will not bow.
The bees won't be humming around
the flowers to suck the honey.
The birds will not chirp and feed
their young, innocent chicks.
The cuckoos will be going silent
making the poets uninspired.
The plants will not turn the leaves
towards the peerless Sun.
The cows will not give milk to the calves.
The crows won't call the clans to share the food.
The planets themselves will jump off
their usual assigned orbits
leaving the central star in lurch.
To bless the loving humans,
the birds, animals and the plants
and the things of nature, God created,
go together and prove exemplars to us.
