Stand Up
For the Comedian
Who's gotta see the funny side
Come laugh with me
Come laugh at me
My honesty hides my pride
Sometimes.... So much pain in their lives
Yet they are letting people in
In the most unusual way
Simply making us all grin
The Comedian makes us laugh so hard
At the oddest, weirdest things
Absolutely ridiculous what they may say
Yet the laughter that it brings
They just stand there
Talk about nothing
And the laughter rolls in
But you have to have the confidence or you will just get boos and grins
The Comedian
Has this face
Only a mother could adore
They spend their day searching
For material to take to the floor
It may not even be funny
Yet their presence has a way
Along with the silence, the nerdiness and characters
We laugh at what ever they say
Let us stand up
For the Stand Up Comedian
Cause we need to laugh so much more
They see a funny side to almost anything
As soon as both feet touch the floor
Just looking at you
Can make us laugh
So keep doing just what you are doing
Keep laying into those Politicians too
Cause....
They're taking us from riches to ruins.
Cheers to all who make us laugh.

Comedians may make us laugh and yet they too may have tribulations that they cleverly mask. Enjoyed it.
Comedians sometimes have so much pain life but still drinking the pain they gift happiness through their art of magic. Nice tribute to the comedians and wonderfully drafted poem shared really.
A Wonderful tribute to Comedians, who make us laugh. What they go through in their life, we may never know. But when they come to stage really they do their best. Beautiful poem Lyn. I loved it.
Comedian makes our life full of gay. They disperse clouds of sorrows from our life. Charlie chapline and Raj Kapoor were great amongst. We read so many forms of poetry here but this poem deserves specific place. Thanks for share.
I respect laughter; it is the only solution to our neverending sorrows! Thanks Lyn for reminding me of this!
i HAVE heard that some comedians do not live happy lives themselves. well, it is like a lot of jobs i guess. one does what one can or must to make a living. i prefer being a lie down comedian, but the pen doesn't write well when it is upside down and the keyboard keeps falling off the ceiling; my assistant got tired of holding it over my head before that. i'd tweak this a bit, but you certainly got your point across. BUT not just my mom has loved THIS face! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! favorite lines: The Comedian makes us laugh so hard At the oddest, weirdest things Absolutely ridiculous what they may say Yet the laughter that it brings and Let us stand up For the Stand Up Comedian Cause we need to laugh so much more They see a funny side to almost anything As soon as both feet touch the floor ..............................some nice rhymes as well. bri :) i'd tweak this a bit, but you certainly got your point across. Great tribute to comedians they make us laugh and feel happy with their amazing talent, I have just been watching a wonderful Irish comedian Brendan Grace and he just made me feel so good!

We owe them a nice tribute, a real rocking tribute. This one fits into that specification. This is a befitting tribute to that laughter master. Thank you, Lyn. Thank you Judith Lucy and your ilk: Let us stand up / For the Stand Up Comedian /......Cheers to all who make us laugh.
