It was a very, very important day
For Jason and his class
Their teachers prepared them very well
For their Confirmation Mass
The teachings and the doctrines
And parables by the score
All helped to pave the winding way
That leads to the Heavenly Door
Buying ‘the gear’ was another day out
They wanted to look their best
This symbolised the cleanest of souls
From the jacket right into the vest
On the day, they looked like angels
Queuing up for their shower of strength
God knows, one day, they may need it
To fight off life’s little torment
Next there were the monetary gifts
From family and friends
Parents stressed they were unimportant
But I guess that all depends
It was a day for reminiscing
There were people who could not be there
For Jason it was his Nana
Who missed it by one little hair?
No doubt she was watching over
To see that all went well
She was definitely there in spirit
Amazingly we all could tell
Strong. Good body of words. Great story, I was there watching it. Cried for Nana in heaven. This is a very moving, well written poem that I will cherish. Good job definitely a 10. Break a finger Poet, Philip Lore
