The Dreaming Child Poem by Akhtar Jawad

The Dreaming Child

Rating: 5.0

You are innocent and cute,
You are pretty and lovely,
When you move your lips,
As if you are being fed,
While dreaming what you sing,
I can understand,
The language of your music,
Yes you muse,
Yes you amuse,
You speak like a flute,
When sleep in the arms,
You look like a rose,
In the greenery of leaves,
You look like a moon,
In the blue sky,
You look like a mermaid,
In the waves of ocean,
With your head on the arms,
When you dream sweetheart,
An angel smiles,
That is hidden in you,
I know your dreams,
But you don’t know,
So was I,
Not at all ugly!

A brilliant poem. It is like a dream. Reading it, I notice it has the rhythm of a lullaby. Nicely done...a 10.
