The Fighter Poem by Anjelie Llorico

The Fighter

Rating: 5.0

Breathe in deep, don't ever give up.
Breathe in and out and don't ever stop.
Though the pain, just look around.
Two angels stand with weeping sounds.
And when you try to fight, those little moments flashed before their eyes;
How you came into the world with your loud cry.
And when you fight, those future moments flashed before their eyes;
You'll grow old, get married and they will cry.

You'll be free from the shades of white.
You'll be free from the needle's bite.
You'll touch the sky and feel your hair has grown.

Just breathe and breathe and never say,
"I've suffered enough and life can go astray."
Just breathe in and out and tell yourself,
"I will conquer this and I will fight well."
And when you try to fight, remember all the memories;
Daddy laughs as you play with him and Mommy.
And when you try to fight, remember all the dreams you had;
Have a job, have a wife and be called ‘Dad'.

You'll be free from this white bed.
You'll no longer feel bare in your head.
Trust in God, never give up and your hair will grow back.
