The Habit Of Poetry -Writing Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Her ruthless words for stopping contact with her
trigger a terrible quake in his heart
Which no Seismograph can measure!
He is run-down soon ruminating on
the reason for her hatred towards him.
He rummages through the sent messages in his mind
as he has deleted all in his cell phone
and no reason his efforts find.

She smiled and made him boisterous some months back
and turned him to a ruinous state by cruel words.
But she can't ruffle his feathers by any step
and force him to tread a suicidal path.
Heroines of the same hue have crossed his life
and taught him lessons of the worst kind.
But she is better than the former queens
as they cast a poor spell on him,
a few lines to scribble and one or two poems.

She has produced a record by her smiles
which played the strings of his heart
to write more than thirty poems of weight.
Poetry-writing habit has saved his life
or else he'd have rung the knell and gone to hell,
when he was a youth as some beasts bit him deep.
