The Immortal Face Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

The Immortal Face

Rating: 5.0

Before I leave this world saying bye
I've a lasting desire to see thy face.
But Time has stolen your beauteous soul
to give it 'way to some nightingale somewhere.

I needn't remember your face as your kin do,
as you have been there in the whole of my heart
since my fifteenth year; you occupied it
daringly and never to leave no more..

My limbs are tired and the hymns aren't inspired
to stream out in flowing, catching lines.
My mind and heart don't find peace to breathe ease
and be awake ever with your smiling face.

My eyes and heart remain young to sing and wonder
but are baffled often by some unforeseen thunder.

When we leave this world, we say goodbye. But we have to feel life and its destination. Eyes and heart remain young to sing and wonder. This poem is very brilliantly penned with great expression. An interesting sharing is done really.10
