The Lonely Star Poem by Hazel Durham

The Lonely Star

Rating: 4.8

She hides from the crowd
Shouting so loud,
She hides from prying eyes,
She hides from people's lies,

As the winter dies,
Hope comes to life in the spring
As she let's out a sigh to embrace comfort and to feel the heat
Of nature's rebirth and winter's defeat.

She walks along lonely miles because of the deceit
Of friends, of life and too many disappointing repeats,
She travels light to hopefully see the sun shine so bright,
To soak up the joys of living in the elusive light,

To try and forget those gloomy dark nights,
She likes to feel she knows what is right
With her intuitive insight
Of people, places and too many shallow faces,

She believes in goodness, that's why she travels at slow paces,
To see the beauty close up to not be part of life's race,
But to shine simply in the light of goodness,
It is a lonely road but joyfulness

Is a lonely star outshining the vastness, the greatness
Of the Universe
Of living
The truth of giving

The love of believing
And to forgive
The crowd deceiving
As the lonely star keeps on believing.

Wow, there is a lifetime in this poem, a star shines with hurt but humility and above all, love of goodness, May this star shine to times indefinite! Brilliant! !

A Beautiful poem. The Lonely Star shining so brightly on light of goodness despite all pain. A spring of hope keeps her smiling. Loved reading it.

I read the comments from Valsa and Geetha and Bill and it is obvious that this poem has touched their hearts too. I wonder if there is something in this lonely miles because of the deceit / Of friends, of life and too many disappointing repeats that incubates poetic talent in some people... something about feeling one's face is pressed against the window of life...Well done, dear friend. Well done.10...

The stars are like feelings - many different states and shapes. The difference is in the adjective we give to them. They need to be carefully written because all the stars can fall. Do not worry, this will sow eternally.

''She hides from the crowd Shouting so loud, She hides from prying eyes, She hides from people's lies, ''....I can quite relate to this stanza! which is as well, a great way to start the poem; developing into a new spring light of resurrection, of beginning to live in a new light of hope, in a new light of new true friends that they may enrich each other's life. As always, a heart-warming poem!

It is really a beautiful poem on life and present society having startling expression. This poem is metaphorically strong too. She is compared with a lonly star with outshining the vastness, and the greatness. of the Universe. An impressive write. Thanks for sharing.10
