The Meanings Of Many Words Poem by Hebert Logerie

The Meanings Of Many Words

Many words have lost their meanings
It's like the eagles that have lost their wings
And suddenly are behaving as lame ducks
No longer able to function, no longer the hawks
That they once were; they are in great difficulty.
Words, like liberty, freedom, honor, courage, dignity
To name a few, have lost their true signification.
Many writers, activists and poets must take action
They must come to the rescue. The liars and the fakers
Are leading the assaults and the insults. The perpetrators
Are gaining ground; they are winning every step of the way.
The world is in trouble. All is at stake. This is another day.
The dictionary is more voluminous for the wrong reasons.
Wrong is right. Bad is good. Writers, poets, the brave ones
Must not be afraid to speak out, to sort out the information
The relevant data, because we need a more concise definition.
Many words have lost their meanings
Like the vultures that have lost their wings.
