The Other Side Of The Heart Poem by Asma Khan

The Other Side Of The Heart

A foggy sun appeared on the dust of my eyes
opening my blurred vision into a deep rift
spreading its wings like a freed bird of hope
galloping high like bridle-less mustang

Shined upon my face was a bright glare
creating a charisma of endless mysteries
soothing my soul like a charm of seven seas
lifting me high like an astray feather of joy

Sprinkling my face with the freshness of dew
weaving a pearl lace around my neck
casting a spell like a day's dream of night
alluring my destiny like an unpaved path of history
giving me all my wishes to become true to my existence

Sparkling waters of the deep blue oceans
stare at the bare skies with twinkling desires
tossing and turning memories on the fire of dreams
filling the spaces between us like stars of constellations
nearing from us like nomads of timeless antiquity
leaving behind ruins of past and wonders of tomorrow
