The Power Of Words Poem by Mira Graves

The Power Of Words

Tis all what great kings seek,
the power and jewels from their lands.
Yet they dislike everything that is bleak
and thus, they rage war with indisputable commands
but their greatest greed is to posses a women at hands,
dumb but beautiful, is easy prey to take and away to stow.
For a queen, brings an heir and and thus they become mellow.

A great women's logical wisdom, do men forget,
those foolish kings who found themselves forlorn.
Being them the ones to save their pride from such a threat,
yet there are still those who look upon us with scorn.
Even worse is the treatment for those lowborn,
but in the end, the truth surely will be revealed,
and as they see their mistakes, their malice they will yield.

With this words does this story take place,
when news from far way came in the cover of the night
and the contents foolishly were turned into a race.
This bring-ins told of a beauty as graceful as a kite,
and so, many greedy lords decided towards her to flight.
Great riches and domains did she own,
cause for this, men to wed her or her wealth disown.

Far way did the news fly and soon they gathered,
all competing to see who would win her heart.
Her marvelous castle was build earth sheltered,
protection for her people, her concerns and cautions smart.
This caught the eye of a youngster with the pet hart.
He had not come here to marry but to be witness.
Yet this selfless women had a lot of
appealingness.

When the public audience was being held,
there was surprise when she started her passionate speech.
The youngster was transfixed for the fire in her voice couldn't be quelled.
Many men started to leave at such wise words, leaving a breach,
where the youngster all the while thought words he would not misspeech
getting closer to her he fell in love with her wisdom.
Speak to her he wished but afraid for he had no peerdom.

It was late and all men had gone back home,
yet he stayed and both their eyes met in a dazzled way.
In to the others souls they went, their feelings they let roam.
This is how destiny crossed their paths so he would stay.
Thus this shows how all evil, truthful words can slay.
The kings saw beauty in women's ignorance
Yet the youngster saw in her wisdom only admirance.
