The Tail End Of A Dragon Poem by Michelle Melody

The Tail End Of A Dragon

It was cold, it was dreary, it was hopeless
Tis here that I found myself,
one rainy misty morning,
Tail end of a Dragon
and all at once
to my mind
came a call of warning,
This to forgive
that you can live
free from a Dragon's reign,
I was so sure
I've found the way
that leads to life eternal,
when I realised
the Dragon's tail
sweeping at Stars
was where I was,
caught in its wake
it's downward spiral,
and lashing out
to others,
the ones
I thought
was cause of my
Pain,
I was then reminded
their irritance,
could form a Pearl
In my spiritual nacre,
If only I this Pearl could
bear, if only I then the
Pearl could share,
to those in the Tail's sway.
This Dragon's tail
has stretched from Time immemorial...
your hate, your unforgiveness
your hurt turned to gall
over ones you think
have tried to make you take a
dreaded fall,
a hardend heart is the
Dragon's way
If only you can remember:
the Master's example
towards the ones
who pierced His side
the ones His crown of thorns did make,
it was not to lash out
it was not to take down,
it was in bearing of the cross,
the Dragon's Tail you will not find
Him in the share of this,
He raised from the dead
and took in His Train
gifts and men captive.
Follow His way
so you can live
was the Spirit's whisper,
it came to my convicted heart.
At this realisation
at this poignant moment
when I cried in silence
all vengeance abated
just the briefest of Sunbeams
created a crescendo
of warmth through
greyest cloud
To the likes of me
an endless hope was born...
So my friend
If you should find
yourself at the tails end
of that Dragon,
that deceitful one who fools us all,
realise,
tis not the way and change your
Course
to the One, who above it all,
Triumphant Eternally soars...
Hope - Eternally sure.
