The Whole World Sleeps In Rust Poem by Patti Masterman

The Whole World Sleeps In Rust

The whole world sleeps in rust;
Flaking layers off the top,
The new pushing through the bottom,
The ones above just wearing off.

Rust-sicles in our eyes,
Weary circling red fatigue,
Scrambling- ever tighter holding-
Scared what's left, if we must leave.
