The Word Of God Poem by Claude Simpson

The Word Of God

Rating: 5.0

The blessings of God are free
We all should carry out His decree;
Doing the deeds honestly,
Keeping His commands, you'll all agree.

We hear the gospel
But we are not listening;
The words hit so hard
But we omit the feeling.

He is in our heart,
He consumes our thoughts;
The Kingdom of God is at hand,
We pledge to do no wrong.

John was beheaded years ago,
Ordered by Herod the evil foe.
The world darkened in a wicked age
But now as stewards we are on a rage.

Equipped with armory
And powerful weapons
And faith and prayer as the shield of arms
And love & kindness to reveal the charms.

Surrendered and accepted
We made a pledge...
To worship God only...
Knowing very well, God is the head.

We hear the Gospel but we are not listening: my sentiments exactly In this age of enlightenment the western Christian culture has forgotten the points this poem brings to the front. Terrance Tracy
