The pigeons
kept hopping around me, picking the bajra grains
With their beaks,
While I waited under a Metro bridge,
For an office colleague;
Worried, pensive, fidgeting,
I wondered if today's board meeting
Was going to be my last.
Someone stopped by and threw some grains.
Startled, the pigeons
Spread their wings,
And flew up into the cloudy heavens.
And then I realized.
Beyond the board meeting, office politics, and the scowling faces,
A far bigger world exists;
Beautiful, warm, loving, and divine.
Yes, far away from the material and mundane world, there 'A far bigger world exists'. A man is engrossed in tiny issues which restrict his vision and approach. The poem truly underscores this fact and calls for a sublime approach to attain a higher state of consciousness spiritual achievement. Thanks a lot, Jasbir ji.
Far bigger world exists and that is very beautiful and loving. This message is conveyed well by pigeons through collecting grains and flying. Freedom is the best choice for birds and also for all of us. Thank you for sharing a valuable poem. Excellently penned.10
