The wrench of Adversity is gripping hard
Tightens its hold with a strong squeeze
Where now the Toughest have to regard
A very bleak future where Relief's in a freeze.

Ah, the stark reality mortifies and numbs!
A grotesque outlook that is rather morbid-
Is this where Humanity finally succumbs
A naked Depravity that we have to live with?

When our usual Needs trail behind unmet
When only the number of the hungry grows
Such a scenario is quite volatile and set
To repeat what was History, as we all know.
