They Don't Know What I Feel At Night Poem by Paula Glynn

They Don't Know What I Feel At Night

Rating: 5.0

A celebration of fools,
But they don't know how I feel at night,

My heart's desire,
My soul on fire,
They don't know how I feel at night.

My pathway blocked,
My mind confused,
For I have been their fool,
But they don't know what I feel at night.

A happy birthday,
A funeral: it is all the same,
My soul burning in a ball of flame,
And they'll never know how I feel at night.

I am lost, I have no footing,
Money a twisted web,
Money being stolen from me,
With the tears and their games,
But they don't know how I feel at night.

They all laugh, I just cry,
Never knowing the real reason why,
Even angels to not come knocking,
My soul in a place beyond thought,
But they still don't know how I feel at night.

I pray to the lord,
I look above,
For something profound, for a deep love,
Like the waves of the sea,
Calling alone to me,
Because he does know what I feel at night.
