Thinking Comes Awake Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Thinking Comes Awake

Nature coming to mind, soothing and calming thoughts as
thinking comes awake, unfolding in the game of life.

Realizing facts of humanity holding onto promises once
made, loss of family and friends through the years.

Wonder and mysteries opening up minds to their existence,
putting down footsteps throughout life.

Not really leaving anything of any importance behind us,
eventually being forgotten through the years.

Except maybe what we've discovered written or left in
literature or halls of fame, our earthly way of letting
people's images create their legacies.
