Thirst For God Poem by chandra thiagarajan

Thirst For God

When in penury
Man hunts for wealth.

He is then ever in thirst
And in quenching it he gets crazy.

In the process of amassing wealth
He loses his health.

And to his spiritual psyche
There strikes an injury.

If his thirst is channelized towards God
He comes under the umbra of His Mercy.

Very true! Running after wealth leaves man exhausted, similar is running after power or fame. Real peace and joy emanate from one single source- God! ! Great thought expressed through a simple poem!
