This Fairytale Poem by Viola Grey

This Fairytale

Rating: 4.3

Once upon so long ago,
when life was simple,
when love truely was
just love.
So far away, into the night,
I lost myself
in you.
In trees so dense the light fades
I wandered, blindly,
searching heavens eyes
for your voice.
Dreams whisper eternity
but my heart stays closed,
my eyes remain open,
my soul burnt.
Through darkness of desire
I wandered, wondering-
is this how we must live
when love rules our minds.
Fairytales of supposed truth
echo in my head.
Why are the lies
easier to accept?
Upon your eyes I finally arrive,
search their green sea,
swim into their darkness,
walk through the trees,
I hear you calling-
calling me.

Love is so conflicting. If love knew how powerful it truly was It might be more compassionate Awesome poem
