This Is My Home State Poem by Manonton Dalan

i was listening songs this afternoon
it's uplifting i should have known
words enhance by melody; strings maybe
some loud drums, synthesizer in play
anything that massage your heart
either pull, fool, fall, foul at that

i arrived to where i'm going, not far
to cast my ballot for republicans
there are only two names that came
i wonder about others who didn't dare
would cast out virginia if they win?
no matter what would be i ain't movin'
